Destination Wedding Planning in Cancun & Riviera Maya

A wedding worth traveling for. A plan that brings it all together.

Picture the people you love gathered in the Mexican Caribbean, with time to enjoy the celebration you have imagined. WE Group helps couples from the United States, Canada and beyond connect the choices that make that experience possible: the setting, guest stays, transportation, selected wedding services and the flow of the day.

Based in Cancun, our local team coordinates destination weddings across Cancun, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya. Tell us what matters most to you, and let’s discuss the planning support your celebration needs.

What can WE Group coordinate for your wedding?

Our planning service brings the selected parts of your celebration into one agreed plan. We can help connect venue and hotel options, accommodation for the couple and guests, transportation when required, service providers, event production and on-site coordination.

A setting that supports the whole celebration

Begin with how you want the wedding to feel, then compare the practical details: ceremony and reception spaces, guest capacity, accommodation needs, supplier access and the weather backup. The venue should work for your people as well as your photographs.

A guest experience that makes sense

Where everyone stays affects arrivals, event times and the journey home. Connect guest accommodation and room-block options with airport transfers and wedding transportation before the itinerary becomes complicated.

Creative services with a shared schedule

Photography, video, music, lighting, beauty and photo booth entertainment each have their own timing and setup needs. We help connect the services you select with the event plan, so the ceremony, portraits, dinner and celebration have clear responsibilities.

Local coordination for the wedding day

The agreed plan brings together service-provider coordination, production needs and the operational schedule. Welcome events and support through the day after the wedding can be discussed as part of your scope.

Your proposal defines the offer. It should identify the services selected, responsible providers, fees, exclusions and decision deadlines. Hotel rooms, transfers and every creative service are not automatically included.

Plan from the United States or Canada with local support

You can begin the planning conversation from home. Bring your preferred dates, a realistic guest estimate, your wedding priorities and any hotel or venue you have already considered. We can discuss an English-language planning process with local coordination in the destination.

Start with three separate budgets: the wedding events, your own travel and accommodation, and the expenses your guests will pay. This makes it easier to compare complete options and decide what you want to host.

Already booked a resort? Share the details. We can discuss where our support fits alongside the hotel’s wedding coordinator and any suppliers you have already selected. Clear responsibilities help the whole team work toward the same celebration.

Choose the right setting for your wedding

Cancun

Start with the exact hotel and event locations. Compare the ceremony and reception settings, guest access, accommodation conditions and backup space together. If your guests are staying elsewhere, include the arrival and return plan in the decision.

Riviera Maya

For a wider coastal shortlist, consider the full journey between accommodation and celebrations. A venue’s regional label will not tell you how your wedding weekend will work. Explore our Riviera Maya wedding planning page for location-specific considerations.

Playa del Carmen

If a city-and-beach experience appeals to you, compare the actual hotel location with your events and guests’ independent plans. Our Playa del Carmen planning page looks at the decisions behind a resort stay, a central hotel or a separate wedding venue.

Still narrowing the shortlist? Use our wedding venue planning guide to compare options on the same basis.

From the first conversation to the celebration

1. Share your starting point

Tell us your preferred date or timing, estimated attendance, celebration style, wedding budget and venue status. Include any important guest needs or events beyond the wedding day.

2. Compare the options and proposed scope

Evaluate the venue, guest arrangements and selected services together. Review what each proposal includes, what is priced separately, who is responsible and which conditions need confirmation.

3. Connect the decisions

Within the agreed scope, coordinate providers, accommodation information, transportation, production needs and decision deadlines. Keep the approved choices connected to the overall schedule.

4. Bring the plan into the wedding day

Align on-site responsibilities with the ceremony, reception and selected services. Include welcome-event or day-after support in the proposal if those moments are part of your celebration.

Use our destination wedding planning checklist and wedding-day timeline guide to prepare for the decisions ahead.

What will your wedding planning proposal cost?

Your dates, venue, guest count, number of events and selected services shape the proposal. A smaller ceremony, a full reception and a multi-event weekend involve different coordination and production needs.

For a useful comparison, ask for the same guest count, event duration and services in each offer. Separate planning responsibilities from venue charges, food and beverages, production, creative services, accommodation and transportation. Confirm the currency, taxes, service charges and any additional fees.

A hotel’s all-inclusive accommodation plan and its wedding-event package can cover different things. Review the actual inclusions rather than assuming every part of the celebration is covered by one package name.

Read our Cancun wedding package and cost guide, then request a proposal around your priorities.

Make room for the moments that matter to you

An intimate celebration

For a smaller wedding or a celebration centered on the two of you, explore our elopement wedding services. Tell us the setting, guest plans and moments you want to prioritize so the proposed scope fits the occasion.

A wedding weekend

If you imagine a welcome gathering, the wedding and a farewell moment, list each event separately. Attendance, venue access, services and transportation may change from one day to the next.

A multi-day or cultural celebration

Tell us the ceremonies, family traditions and schedule you want to include. Each event needs its own timing, space and service requirements. Destination wedding planning questions

Can we plan our Cancun wedding from the United States or Canada?

Yes. WE Group works with international couples and can discuss an English-language planning process with local coordination in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Start with your dates, guest estimate, budget priorities and venue status.

Can we start before we have chosen a venue?

Yes. Venue and hotel options are among the planning needs we can discuss. Share your preferred timing, estimated attendance and priorities so the venue conversation takes the whole celebration into account.

What is included in destination wedding planning?

The scope can connect venue options, guest accommodation, transportation when required, service providers, production and on-site coordination. Your written proposal identifies the parts selected for your wedding and the responsibilities, fees and exclusions that apply.

Can you customize a Cancun wedding proposal and provide pricing details?

We can discuss a proposal around your dates, destination, guest count, events and preferred services. Share your wedding budget separately from travel and accommodation. Ask for itemized inclusions, exclusions, currency, taxes and additional charges so you can compare the complete offer.

How do we start the booking process?

Begin with the wedding planning inquiry or contact form. Share your preferred date, event location, services and any venue already booked. Before making a commitment, review the confirmed availability, written scope, payment requirements and change or cancellation terms in the applicable proposal.

Can WE Group work alongside our resort’s wedding coordinator?

Yes. Agree which responsibilities belong to the resort, which WE Group will coordinate and which remain with other providers. Include guest arrangements, external services and any events away from the hotel in that discussion.

Does an all-inclusive wedding package include guest rooms and transfers?

Those inclusions must be confirmed separately. A hotel accommodation plan, wedding-event package and transport booking may have different terms and prices. Use the written offer to establish what is included for your group.

Can you help with hotel accommodation and transportation for our guests?

Yes. Accommodation options and transportation can be discussed within your planning needs. Hotel inventory, group conditions, routes, capacity and the responsible providers must be confirmed for your dates and locations.

Can we plan a welcome event or a multi-day celebration?

Additional events can be discussed as part of the agreed scope. Share the schedule you have in mind and the attendance for each event. Venue access, provider availability, production and transportation should be considered separately for each part of the celebration.

What should we ask about an outdoor ceremony or reception?

Ask about the backup setting, guest capacity, the decision deadline and any changeover charges. Your plan should also address the practical needs of the space, including access, power, lighting and flooring where relevant.

Do we need an exact guest count to make an inquiry?

An estimate is useful for the first conversation. Explain whether it is an early estimate or closer to confirmed attendance. Final counts and the deadlines for changes will depend on the venue and service agreements.

What should we send with our first inquiry?

Include your preferred date, destination, event type, contact details and the services you are considering. In the message, add your estimated guest count, venue status, wedding budget priorities and any additional events or important guest needs.

Tell us about the wedding you want to create

Start with the date, the destination and what matters most to you. Whether you are comparing venues or bringing together plans already underway, we can discuss the local coordination and selected services your celebration needs.

Prefer the general contact form? Tell us your preferred location and guest plans.

Include your estimated guest count, venue status, wedding budget priorities and any events beyond the wedding day in your message.
